It depends upon the designed load rating. The great thing about the steel components used in mezzanine floors is that they can sized according to the intended usage. For instance, a mezzanine used for additional offices will likely be able to hold up to 300kg per square metre (or approximately 3kPa). On the other hand, a raised storage area (this is another term for a mezzanine used for storage) will typically be designed to safely carry at least 500kg per square metre (or approximately 5kPa).
